ASUS launches unique dual-screen laptop with Core Ultra Series 3 for US pre-orders

ASUS has officially started taking pre-orders in the US for its latest dual-screen laptop, the Zenbook DUO 2026 (UX8407). This refreshed model builds on the company’s innovative dual-display concept and was originally showcased earlier this year as part of its 2026 Zenbook lineup.

The standout feature remains its dual 14-inch OLED touchscreens, both offering sharp 2880×1800 resolution with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness levels are also impressive, reaching up to 500 nits in standard use and peaking at 1000 nits for HDR content, which should deliver a vivid viewing experience for both work and entertainment.

ASUS has made some meaningful design improvements this time. The updated hinge mechanism significantly reduces the gap between the two screens—by around 70%—making the setup feel more seamless. At the same time, the overall chassis has been slightly reduced in size, making it more compact and portable than its predecessor.

In terms of configurations, ASUS is offering two main options in the US market:

• The base variant comes with an **Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor paired with integrated Intel graphics and is priced at $2,499.99.
• A higher-end version features the more powerful **Intel Core Ultra X9 388H along with **Intel Arc Graphics for improved graphical performance.

Both models are well-equipped with 32GB LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, ensuring fast multitasking and storage speeds. Connectivity is also future-ready, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, and a USB-A port.

The laptop packs a large 99Wh battery and features a premium Ceraluminum build, which ASUS claims enhances durability while keeping the design lightweight. It also comes with a redesigned detachable keyboard and an upgraded cooling system capable of handling up to 45W of performance.

Overall, the Zenbook DUO 2026 looks like a refined version of an already unique concept, focusing on better usability, improved performance, and a more polished dual-screen experience.
